Administrative Appointment for FY2019-20

Andrew Balog – JFK Middle School

Dr. Balog has joined John F. Kennedy Middle School to serve in the position of Assistant Principal, Blue House.  Prior to moving into building level administration, Dr. Balog worked as a dean for three years at The High School of Commerce, a special education teacher/consultant for four years at Springfield High School, and a special education teacher of social/emotional students for three years at The High School of Commerce.  Dr. Balog has worked in a variety of roles including Special Education Department Head, Restorative Justice, CPI Instructor, Testing Coordinator, PBIS, Autism Summer Programs, 504 Coordinator, and Girls' Varsity Track Coach. 

Dr. Balog earned a Masters in Special Education, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Administration, and a Doctorate of Education Leadership and Supervision from American International College.  Prior to these graduate studies, Dr. Balog earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts.   

An active member of his local community, Dr. Balog volunteers as a coach for Wilbraham Soccer and as a hippo-therapist for Whispering Horse Therapeutic Riding Farm.  He resides in Hampden, Massachusetts with his wife, Katherine, and children:  Kaitlyn, Emma, Mia, and Connor.  

Please join us welcoming Andrew Balog as an Assistant Principal at John F. Kennedy Middle School.  He will start this administrative appointment on July 1, 2019.
