Tuition/Fees: Enfield Residents $250.00 (per course); Non-Residents $265.00 (per course)
TO REGISTER: Please mail the completed registration form to MARY BETH LAMAGNA, SUMMER SCHOOL,
ENFIELD HIGH SCHOOL,1264 ENFIELD STREET, ENFIELD, CT 06082 OR register in person on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in the Career Center at Enfield High School from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Enclose a check or money order (no cash), payable to ENFIELD PUBLIC SUMMER SCHOOL. There will be a $20 surcharge for returned checks. Credit card payments may be made in person only at Enfield High on June 27th. Mailed registrations must be received by June 27th.
Please note that the Director reserves the right to withdraw any summer school course due to inadequate enrollment. In such instances tuition will be refunded. Depending on enrollment, some courses may be offered on-line with a certified teacher supervising the lab.

All classes are 2 hours and 50 minutes in length. No confirmation of classes will be mailed. You will be called on June 28th with confirmation of the course and time. Class time is determined by enrollment. These lists will be posted on the main doors at Enfield High School by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28th. Students who registered for classes that are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment will be notified by telephone by Friday, June 28, 2019.

Transportation is the responsibility of the individual, but names of students interested in carpooling will be posted.

HIGHLIGHTS OF BOARD SUMMER SCHOOL POLICY: 6174
II.C.2. Enrollment and credit for any summer course taken in Enfield or a neighboring community must receive the prior approval of the student’s guidance counselor or building administrator.
II.C.3. Summer school courses, unless otherwise stated, will be treated as level 3 courses for G.P.A. computational purposes.
II.C.4. No more than 50% of the total credits needed in a required subject area for graduation may be accrued in summer school.
III.A.2. Students must have been enrolled for the entire course and achieved a course average of 50 or a grade of 50 on the final exam during the regular school year to enroll in a summer school course.
III.A.3. Credit for any summer school course will be awarded only to the amount lost in any individual school year.
IV.C. More than one absence will result in loss of credit or dismissal without refund, subject to appeal. If a student is late to class by ten minutes or more, it will be recorded as a tardy. Three tardies will be considered as an absence.
IV.E. A final exam must be taken at the conclusion of all summer school courses and will account for 20 percent of the final grade. The final exam will be comparable in difficulty and scope as that given during the regular school year. The final exam must be approved by the appropriate department chairperson(s). In any generic course a comparable final exam is to be used.
