Prudence Crandall School Accomplishes Successful Food Drive
Prudence Crandall Elementary School held its first Thanksgiving food drive for Enfield Food Shelf. Staff and students collected non-perishable items that included seasonal foods such as mashed potatoes and gravy, as well as pantry staples. Also the staff donated money to purchase turkeys, so families could have a complete Thanksgiving meal. Principal Miller told students, “This is a caring act to help support families right here in our community and shows the power of working together towards a common goal.” She thanked the students and staff for their generosity and team effort. Together, they donated 647 pounds of food and 14 turkeys. Kathleen Souvigney, Executive Director at Enfield Food Shelf, thanked Prudence Crandall for the donations and for raising hunger awareness.
