Last evening the Enfield Board of Education voted to promote the following 3 administrators to new positions effective July 1, 2017.
Christopher J. Drezek – Superintendent
Mr. Drezek’s career with the Enfield Public Schools began as the district’s Business Manager in 2004. After a brief time as the Director of Human Resources and Operations for the Wethersfield Board of Education, Mr. Drezek returned to Enfield in 2010 to serve as the district’s Director of Human Resources. In 2012, Mr. Drezek began his tenure as Deputy Superintendent of the Enfield Public Schools. Prior to central office administration, Mr. Drezek served as a teacher and coach at Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury, CT and as an assistant principal of St. Paul Middle and High School in Bristol, CT.
Mr. Drezek earned his Superintendent of Schools Advanced Certificate and Sixth Year in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University, Master’s of Education from the University of Bridgeport, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Post University.
Mr. Drezek and his wife Alisa are life-long residents of Connecticut and have two daughters, Olivia and Samantha. When not working, Mr. Drezek can be found coaching his daughters' sports teams, golfing, and traveling with his family.
Andrew B. Longey – Deputy Superintendent
Mr. Longey was hired as an assistant principal at JFK Middle School in 2004. In 2010, he became an assistant principal at Enfield High School. In 2014, Mr. Longey was named the Interim Principal of Enfield High School, and this past year, he was appointed the Principal of the high school. Prior to coming to Enfield, he taught history and English in an inner-city school near Denver, Colorado and was an assistant principal in Easthampton, MA.
Mr. Longey earned a Bachelor of Arts in History Education at Springfield College. He earned Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Colorado in Boulder and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Administration from Westfield University.
Mr. Longey was instrumental in guiding the high school through a massive building project and he successfully oversaw the merger of Enrico Fermi High School with Enfield High School. When Mr. Longey is not at work, he can be found camping, fishing, and coaching soccer.
Erin Clark – Principal, Enfield High School
Ms. Clark has served as an assistant principal at Enfield High School since 2014. Prior to her service in administration, she taught U.S. and Modern World History at Enrico Fermi High School.
Ms. Clark is an Enfield native and an Enrico Fermi High School graduate. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History, a Master’s Degree in Education, and a Graduate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut.
As assistant principal, Ms. Clark was focused on improving teaching and learning and developing a strong professional culture at Enfield High School. In 2016, she collaborated to establish an Instructional Leadership Team with the goal of promoting teacher leadership. With the help of this new team, Enfield High School implemented a new approach to professional development where teachers plan and facilitate professional learning experiences. She also initiated the reform of the Student Intervention Team to better assist at-risk students. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, reading, and following UCONN sports.
