While the federal waivers that provided free breakfast and lunch during Covid ended at the end of June 2022, recently the STATE OF CT has made available to school districts money named SMART (School Meals Assistance Revenue for Transition) FUNDS, to help families transition back to Paid, Reduced and Free meals. This means that we can continue to offer FREE MEALS to students as long as the funds last. The funding is based on participation so we do not know how long the allocated funds will last.
FREE MEALS ARE BEING OFFERED UNTIL FEBRUARY 2023,
AND
MAY CONTINUE IF FUNDING IS AVAILABLE.
We will provide at least a month notice to families letting you know when meals will return to Paid, Reduced, and Free meals.
Households that do not submit a free or reduced-price application or whose child is not directly certified, will automatically default to full pay when SMART funds end.

HOW TO ADD MONEY FOR A LA CARTE ITEMS:
There is still a charge for A la Carte items such as a milk only purchase, water, slice of pizza, ice cream, etc.
ELEMENTARY: You can add money to your students account by sending money or a check into the school. Make sure it is in an envelope with the students name, student ID #, classroom and what the money is for. We don't want it confused with money sent in for other school items.
JFK AND EHS: Students can give money or check to the cashier to be put on account. We are not able to make change so whatever the student gives the cashier will be put on the account. We have very little cash now so it is impossible to make change.
ALL SCHOOLS: You can just monitor the students account (no charge) or monitor account and put money on account (fee charged) with MySchoolBucks. Click on the link for information on using MySchoolBucks.
