Enfield Public Schools is pleased to announce that Anthony (Tony) Allegro has been selected as
the 2018-19 Enfield Teacher of the Year. Mr. Allegro is a Social Studies teacher at Enfield High
School (EHS). Because of this distinction, he will represent Enfield at the state level in the
Connecticut Teacher of the Year process.

students. He is known for an elevated level of energy and innovation he brings to all facets of his
school and community.
During the selection process, the Teacher of the Year Committee recognized his creativity in

relationships he establishes with students. Mr. Allegro implemented a new course at Enfield High
School called Community Action Learning, where students acted outside of the classroom to raise
money for student driven causes. He is heavily involved with the Youth Vote initiative at EHS,
organizing the local Board of Education and Town Council debates and assemblies. He is a

issues. Additionally, Tony finds time to coach soccer at EHS, and co-advise the EHS film club.
We are thrilled to share this honor with you and wish Tony the best in his future pursuit at the
state level.
