Administrative Appointment for FY2023-24

Andrew B. Longey – Superintendent of Schools

Last evening, the Enfield Board of Education promoted the following 2 administrators to new positions effective May 21, 2024.

Mr. Longey began his career teaching History and English in an inner-city school near Denver, Colorado and was then hired as an Assistant Principal in Easthampton, MA.  He began his career with the Enfield Public Schools starting at John F. Kennedy Middle School as an Assistant Principal in 2004.  He then became an Assistant Principal at Enfield High School in 2010, was named Enfield High’s Interim Principal in 2014 and was then appointed Principal of the Enfield High school in 2016.  Mr. Longey was then hired as the Assistant Superintendent in 2017 and now has been appointed as the Superintendent for Enfield Public Schools.   

Mr. Longey earned a Bachelor of Arts in History Education at Springfield College.  He earned Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Colorado in Boulder and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Administration from Westfield University.

Mr. Longey has been an integral part of Enfield Public Schools for many years and will continue to lead us.  Please join us by congratulating our next Superintendent of Enfield.  When Mr. Longey is not at work, he can be found spending time with his family.

 

Michelle Middleton - Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction

Since beginning her career in 2000, Ms. Middleton has taught middle and high school English and Social Studies in Manchester, Newington, and CREC.  She was also the Secondary Literacy Specialist for CREC schools.  She came to Enfield as the Humanities Coordinator in September of 2013.  Ms. Middleton was hired as Enfield’s Chief Academic Officer in 2015.

Ms. Middleton has a Bachelor of Arts in English with a secondary education certification and a Master’s Degree in English from Central Connecticut State University.  She also has a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Administration from Sacred Heart University.

When Ms. Middleton is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
